 Doosan Corporation is a business group diversified into such diverse lines as liquor, electronics, publishing, apparel, and Techpack. It overcame the Korean foreign exchange crisis bailed by IMF through successful restructuring in late 1990s. It has established a responsible performance-oriented management through steady reform and innovation while introducing new organization concepts like BG (Business Group) / BU (Business Unit) systems.
Doosan has been successfully carrying out improvement of its governing structure and switch into a holding company by appointing a foreigner CEO in 2006 for the first time in the group history. It will grow into a best diversified group by strengthening the position of two to three key business lines in Korea and region by enhancing their core capabilities of a global level.
Doosan is Korea's oldest business inheriting the history of ‘Park Seung-jik Store' which was the origin of the current Doosan Group. It will write its history for coming 100 years based on its history of past 110 years.
